Statement of Faith

I accept the scriptures as the only authority in matters of faith and practice and my interpretation of Bible Doctrine leads me inexorably to believe:

The scriptures of the Old and New Testament as being verbally inspired by God and inerrant and infallible in the original writings, which are Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic, and that they are of supreme and final authority. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

In one God eternally existing in one essence, yet co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of both the physical and Heavenly universes and all their host (Gen 1, 2; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Genesis 1:26)

That Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary. In His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26), in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death through His shed blood (I Corinthians 15:3), in His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:6), in His Ascension to the right hand of the Father (Luke 22:69), and in His personal return in power and glory (Matthew 13:26). Therefore: It is my privilege to proclaim forgiveness and life though His Name, and to honor Him in all that I do and say.(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; John 1:18; Luke 1:26-35)

In the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, Who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is the life of the believer and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. (Acts 2; 1 Corinthians 1:18)

In the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 24:29-31)

In the pre-tribulation rapture of the church as being seperate from the 2nd coming of Christ. (Matthew 24:29-31)

That mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. (Genesis 1:26; 3:1-21)

That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Romans 5:1)

In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there as High priest and Advocate for us. (Luke 24:1-12; Luke 24:51; Hebrews 9:23-24; 3:1; 1 John 2:1)

That all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life. (John 1:12; 3:3; Romans 8:16; Galatians 3:26-29; 4:7; Titus 3:7)

That Jesus will return to fulfill all God's promises, to judge the living and the dead and to establish the eternal kingdom of the Father. (II Timothy 4:1)

In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell and the fellowship of the saved in heaven. (Galatians 6:8; 2 Thessalonians 1:9-12; John 5:29; Luke 16:23; Rev. 19)

In the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men and that he and all his angels and all who do not receive Christ as their personal Savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire. (James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8; Luke 3:17; Revelation 20:14)

In the Church, and the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus, the Messiah (Colossians 3:11). Our mission being to preach the gospel to all the world, all of its endeavors being guided by multiple leadership and supported by the wise stewardship of God's people. (Mark 16;15; Proverbs 24:6; 1 Corinthians 4:2)

That the ordinances of the Church, given by the Lord, are water Baptism- which is a prerequisite for salvation, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit (Baptism of the Holy Ghost) with the evidence of speaking in tongues, known and unknown, and that this infilling is a prerequisite to going in the rapture of the church-, and the Lord's Table (Communion). (1 Peter 3:21; Mark 16:16; Luke 3:16; Acts 2; Luke 22:7-23)

I believe that there is a spiritual enemy of God, known as the devil, or satan, who seeks to deceive and destroy all that belongs to God (Isa 14:12-15, I Peter 5:8). Because this enemy is subject to God and has been defeated by Jesus, believers need not fear him, but only be aware of his devices so we may resist and combat him (James 4:7; Ephesians 6:10-20) as necessary. Therefore: I covenant not to allow him foothold among us, nor to engage in activities which encourage his destructive influence.

Note: Scriptures given are just a few of the many that could be given.
